Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Isaiah 38:16 Lord, your discipline is good, for it leads to life and health. You restore my health and allow me to live!
Read - 2 Kings 20:1-11, 2 Chronicles 32:24-31, Isaiah 38:1-22
Hezekiah has learned to trust God with the nation and now he learns a more personal faith…how to trust God with his own health. This can sometimes seem tough but if we can trust Him with our eternity then we can also trust Him with our Today.
Lord, I will trust You with my life and health!
Not that we are to ask for signs of God’s Promise…but Hezekiah sure got one!
God made us to be spiritual people, relational people and physical people. Hezekiah was all three…just as you and I are. Note that when his physical body was in jeopardy, it affected his whole body. It was only after the fact that he was able to write ‘this anguish was good for me’ (Isaiah 38:17). The life that we live is to be lived on purpose even when it is riddled with test, trial and suffering. Even when we don’t yet know the outcome, we can trust our Faithful God. If He loves us so much to Mend our Souls in Christ then we can trust Him with our mortal bodies too.
