Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Psalm 150:6 -Let everything that breathes sing praises to the LORD! Praise the LORD!
Read - Psalm 135, 136, 146, 148, 149, 150
Not just on Turkey Day! Psalm 136 would be a great Psalm to praise God any day. Just as that writer gave thanks to The Lord by looking into their past and seeing that it was God who had gotten them through all the tough times…so should we. What has God delivered you from? Give thanks!
Lord, I will praise You today.
Genesis 1 & 2 would be worth a re-read as we praise God for His creative power today.
We are Made by the very breath of God. God breathed us into Creation (Genesis 2:7). That is an intimate and personal creation. He put breath in our lungs too. How shall we use it? Some use it to curse God. Others use it to scoff and scorn. This section of the Psalms tells us we are to breathe out praises and thanksgiving to our Maker. Much of today’s writing sounds just like a testimony (a record of what God has done for us). This is another purpose for our breath. When we share what God has done we do more than give praise and thanks…we let others know how God can also breathe life into their existence.
