2 Chronicles 34:3-  During the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, Josiah began to seek the God of his ancestor David.

Who does this?  An 8 year old king who has the mind to break tradition with his evil father and grandfather?  Josiah stands as an example to us that no matter what our issues with our family of origin may be…God is greater!  At 16, he began seeking God.  There is no age too young nor too old for us to do the same!


Lord, give me a heart to seek You no matter my former experiences.

Knowing, Loving and Serving God doesn't have an age limit.  As a teen, Josiah was ‘seeking God’ (2 Chronicles 34:3).  This is how we get to know God better.  Out of that Knowledge, Josiah was choosing to ‘please the Lord’ (2 Chronicles 34:2).  This shows a Loving commitment to the God he was coming to know.  The list of the things he did only begins in todays text but even here he was Serving God as he removed and destroyed many of the false idols in the land.  If Josiah could begin to do this as a youth, we can start at whatever age or stage we are in…
