Eternity is more than a time it is also a destination.
Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Isaiah 60:15 - I will make you beautiful forever, a joy to all generations.
Read - Isaiah 60-61
At first look, Chapter 60 seems to be a promise that would be experienced by temporal man. However, once you transition to about verse 18 the language makes clear that God is giving His people a glimpse of eternity. Rather than speaking of the city of Jerusalem on earth He is giving the nation a look at the eternal and New Jerusalem. Our lives are meant to go on after our earthly existence perishes. Do you live today with the hope of forever?
Lord, You have placed eternity in my heart and I thank You for it.
The New Jerusalem is also known as the New Heaven and New Earth and can be read about in Revelation 21.
Jesus came to Mend humanity with His Light, Love and Life. He illuminates the world today as He brings light to the darkness that cannot extinguish it. He will illuminate eternity as well. Isaiah 60:20 tells us that ‘The Lord will be your everlasting light.’ If you have trusted Him to be your eternal light, how about asking Him to shed some light on your life now as well?
