Do your prayers get past the ceiling? These folks had become so lost that God desired not to hear them anymore. There time of grace and patience had ended...like Jeremiah 8:20, “summer was gone and the harvest was ended and they were not saved”.  A great reminder for us to receive God’s gracious offer while we have time!

Lord, I won’t delay in following You.

Extra Discovery

Drought and famine were often Old Testament physical symptoms of a spiritual problem. 1 Kings 17.

Revelation

Save us from what? In our search to be Mended by Christ, we must not fall pray to situational grace.  Asking God to save us from drought without dealing with our spiritual famine is like asking God to deliver us from the curse of sin without actually turning from our evil ways.  God knows our hearts well and sees true surrender when it occurs. Seek to be truly Mended by Christ and you will find all the benefits.
