Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Jeremiah 47:6-7 -"Now, O sword of the LORD, when will you be at rest again? Go back into your sheath; rest and be still. "But how can it be still when the LORD has sent it on a mission?”
Read - 2 Kings 23:29-30, 2 Chronicles 35:20-27, Jeremiah 47:1-7, 48:1-47
Listening with our ears is important to human relationships. Listening with our spirit is important to our spiritual relationship. God had sent Egypt on a mission. Josiah was to have nothing to do with it. Josiah got involved anyway and lost his life as the price. But much more, Josiah was leading the nation on an important reform that wasn’t over. So, when he dies from ignoring God’s will, he not only prematurely enters eternity but leaves the nation ill equipped to continue. Our personal decisions can have much broader reaching implications. Let us make sure that ‘we that have spiritual ears are listening to the voice of the Lord’.
Lord, help me to hear You clearly so I can obey You fully.

Egypt, who had been a foreshadowing picture of the Marring of Sin, was now being used by God. God sent Pharaoh Neco to be used as the sword of the Lord. God uses good and God uses evil. God uses people - period. We find our meaning by seeking to hear His voice. If you have been Mended by Christ, you can probably look back to your own ‘Marred by Sin’ past and see that God was working in your life even then. Be thankful that God doesn’t wait until we are clean but works to clean us!
