3:16 Plan - Week 12 - Day 3 - Year 2 - 2 Kings 23:31-35, 2 Chronicles 36:1-4

The world searches for a King that is god-like and all the while God desires to be the king of the heart of man.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

2 Chronicles 36:1 -Then the people of the land took Josiah's son Jehoahaz and made him the next king in Jerusalem.

Read - 2 Kings 23:31-35, 2 Chronicles 36:1-4

When Josiah fell to Pharaoh Neco of Egypt, the nation of Judah found themselves in a very weak position.  No defenses.  No alliances.  No King.  No plan.  All of this could have been avoided if they would have made much more than a good plan but a God-led plan.  Likewise, we can avoid much trouble by discerning God’s will in matters before we run off ahead of Him.

Lord, I want You to be the King on the throne of my life.

Extra Discovery

2 Kings 23:35 shows a smart flat tax plan.  Read Romans 13:6-7.

Deception - Josiah went to fight a battle that wasn’t his to fight.  It led to Destruction - Judah was weaker than ever and being asked to fork over resources that they had to tax the people to come up with.  The Marring of Sin weakens the soul and body of man to the point of despair.  Once again Egypt is the stereotype of Sin’s power.  On this resurrection week, remember that the same power that rose Jesus from the dead can live in your mortal body to defeat the marring of sin and its power in your life.
