Read - Jeremiah 26:1-24

Thank God for wise old men.  Verse 17 shows that there were still some who would heed God’s word.  However, the nation’s leadership was evil to the core and wouldn’t change.  There are times in life when God gives us uncomfortable truths.  Sometimes they are just for us to hear and heed.  Other times, He shares a message that we are to share.  This could cause us to lose popularity but the choice between pleasing God and pleasing man is others.

Lord, help me to faithfully share Your word when it is easy and when it is hard.

Extra Discovery

Like Jeremiah, the early disciples also had to say ‘do with me as you see fit’.  Read Acts 4:19-21.

One of the ways God has chosen for us to Know Him is that He has sent many messages to us in His Word.  During these OT times, He sent many prophets with the same or similar message (like Jeremiah and Micah from this chapter).  Similarly, the NT gives us many angles in the four different gospel accounts of Jesus’ life.  This is so that we may believe and live a life in ‘The Light’.  We can choose to ignore the overwhelming themes of Scripture and end up deceived in darkness or we can choose to Know that God has given us all we need for life and godliness.
