3:16 Plan - Week 16 - Day 2 - Year 2 - Jeremiah 37-38

Desperate Times can cause a litany of poor decisions if we don’t seek God.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Jeremiah 37:3 -"Please pray to the LORD our God for us."

Read - Jeremiah 37-38

When times are tough, our attitudes can cloud our judgement.  Just as the King is making poor decision after poor decision, if desperation doesn’t cause us to seek God then things will get even worse.  The King’s treatment of Jeremiah is a continued proof of his disdain for God.  Jeremiah’s resolve to speak God’s Word in spite of persecution is an incredible testimony of his faith and an indicator of how God desires us to carry His ‘Good News’ no matter the situation.

Lord, I don’t want to be a situational Christian but a wholly committed follower of Jesus.

Extra Discovery

What do we do when Ministry is tough?  Do we pack it in and go fishing or do we stick to the plans that God has given?  Jeremiah is an example of great resolve.  This resolve is a gift of God.  Jeremiah was clearly led by the Holy Spirit.  Now, as Mended followers of Jesus, we can experience the Holy Spirit’s power and be Morphed by His Spirit.  This power supply is what gives us strength to live and serve a Holy God in good or bad situations.  Having a bad ‘ministry day’?  Take a look back to Jeremiah’s stay in a cistern and consider that it could be worse!
