Apply

Israel was to be the shining star of the world, giving the gift of their faith and knowledge of God to nations.  Instead, God would use them as an example of what it looks like to spurn God.  They would suffer the many consequences of sin and separation from God.  The nations would still learn of God but not through a positive example…through a warning of ‘what not to do’.  Let us follow Christ and share Christ.

Revelation

God wants us to Know Him.  This horrifying text exemplifies that truth in that if we won’t come to Know God of our own will then He will show Himself to us through His mighty power.  God desires us to Know, Love & Obediently Serve Him but when we refuse we will end our lives by simply knowing who He is and what we missed.  Let us not fall to that place but to Know Him through the Mending work of His Son Jesus.
