Sometimes speaking truth seems easier when it is pointed at someone else.
Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Ezekiel 22:2 - Son of man, are you ready…
Read - Ezekiel 22-23
What a question. God asks Ezekiel if ‘He is ready’. Ready for what? Basically, ready for anything God tells him to do but precisely to judge his own city. He had been judging other areas but now he was to turn inward towards his home town. It is easy for us to see the problems in others but more difficult when we must look at the person in the mirror. Let us always make sure we are self-aware enough to know our own faults and be ready to correct them. Especially when God calls us to it! Are you ready?
Lord, I desire Your truth even when it calls me to change.
Ready 2 Corinthians 6:18-20 to see the severity of sin that God is condemning Israel and Judah of…
Doomed and Damned. Ezekiel 22:3 leaves no doubt of the situation for Judah. It is the situation of the person without Christ - Marred by Sin and bearing its full weight. It is the situation of the Misled follower of Christ…even though they have heaven in their future they are bearing the weight and consequence of sin for they have fell back into it. It is the eternal situation for the person who was not applied the blood of Christ to their life thus they have an eternal and meaningless misery in store. Sound hopeless? Without Christ, it is. With Christ, it can all be avoided. Once we are made new by a saving relationship with Jesus we never have to be doomed or damned again. Even the Misleading hand of Satan can be defeated by the power of the Holy Spirit.
