Read - Ezekiel 3-4:17

God assigned Ezekiel a tough job - to share hard prophetic words to a hard headed people.  Not many would sign up for such a task.  Yet God was very aware of the situation and prepared Ezekiel by having him devour those words personally and then by giving Ezekiel a supernaturally hard-headed so that he could endure their rebukes and supernaturally hard-hearted so their ways wouldn’t penetrate his heart.  The application - ask God to give you all the tools you need to do what He has created you to do!

Lord, I will take the tough assignments as well as the ones that seem exciting.

Extra Discovery

If you haven’t tried it you should.

Before Ezekiel would be a ‘watchman’ he would be a consumer.  Now, I don’t mean a consumer that has no intention of doing anything with what they consume…no, Ezekiel consumed as an athlete preparing for a game or a soldier preparing for battle.  This is vital in the life of the Mended follower of Christ.  This is how we come to Know God and His will.  Otherwise, we may be spouting off all kind of nonsense.  Before Ezekiel obediently served, he consumed God’s Word and let them sink deep into His heart…insuring that his heart was changed by the love of God.
