3:16 Plan - Week 19 - Day 3 - Year 2 - Ezekiel 26-28

Rejoicing when others suffer is sinful and ultimately a work of satan. Read Romans 12:15 to see how a follower of Jesus should handle that...

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Ezekiel 26:2 - "Son of man, Tyre has rejoiced over the fall of Jerusalem…”

Read - Ezekiel 26-28

Tyre had long been a nation that was proud and seemingly perfect.  It was led by a Prince who was similarly proud.  Yet, ultimately, it was led by a king that was not of this world.  After reading of the doom that God is sending to this city and its leaders, we read in Ezekiel 28 of the enemy behind the veil.  Satan is the King of Tyre…the puppet master behind the pride and sin of a nation that has set itself against God and against God’s people.  Today, Satan is still working behind the scenes to do just that.  We must ‘submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from us’.

Lord, I will resist pride and resist the father of lies who is satan.

Extra Discovery

Read Isaiah 14:12-14 to see another glimpse of satan in the Old Testament Prophets.

Satan seeks to kill and destroy.  He strives to make humanity fall after his own evil ungodly ways.  His beginnings were like ours in that they were sinless, purposeful and in the close presence of God.  The Marring of Sin started with him and his particular sin was pride…vanity of his own beauty.  That sin separated Him from God and has left him seeking power by ruining humanity’s relationship with God.  To seek that relationship with God is to resist Satan’s evil plots and plans…to choose to Know, Love and Serve God rather than to succumb to the mimicry of deception, division and destruction.  Nothing that Satan offers you will give you what he promises.  All that God offers you will fulfill.  Ultimately, to resist Satan is to choose Christ…for the first time at Salvation when He mends you…for the next time daily when we choose to follow Him with humility…the godly trait that opposes the pride of the devil.
