Do not place hope in land or wealth but in Christ alone.
Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Psalm 27:2-4 - When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. 3 Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident. 4 The one thing I ask of the LORD--the thing I seek most--is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD's perfections and meditating in his Temple.
Read - Jeremiah 52:28-30
To live in constant fear of what bad thing may come is not living. Imagine the dread of wondering when Babylon would come to take more away. Now imagine the faith to hope in God even while we wait on His Plan to unfold. Fear doesn’t improve any circumstance but only devolves the situation. Faith in God changes things from the inside out.
Lord, give me faith that overcomes fear.

Yes, sin will take you further than you want to go, cost you more than you want to pay and keep you longer than you want to stay. Israel’s exile reminds us of that and points us to a Savior that desires to mend us from the curse of that sin. Guess what? Jesus also takes us, keeps us and the funny thing is it cost Him.
