Though sorrow may last for the night, joy comes in the morning!
Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
2 Chronicles 36:22 - In the first year of King Cyrus of Persia, the LORD fulfilled the prophecy he had given through Jeremiah.
Read - 2 Chronicles 36:22-23, Ezra 1-2
King Cyrus ascends the throne of Persia and fulfills prophecy (in the book of Isaiah) to be the one to send the Israelites out of exile and back to their homeland. 70 long years has passed and it is only a fragment (a remnant) of the people who had once populated the holy city. Our faith is not a faith based upon numbers and feelings but upon God’s never changing Word and Will. Let’s stay focused upon that.
Lord, I will choose to see You at work even when the timeline isn’t agreeable to my flesh.
We will read almost half of Ezra this week:
God stirred the heart of Cyrus. Persia was not a kingdom that was faithful to the One True God but God worked in them anyway. Our worldview leaves space for God to do what He wants even when it doesn’t fit our box. No matter the tribe or tongue, it is His Will to offer salvation (The Mending Work of Christ) to ‘whosoever will’. Let’s not let the distance or separation of a people dictate how we are able to share Jesus.
