God will make a way where there seems to be no way!
Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Ezra 6:14b - The Temple was finally finished, as had been commanded by the God of Israel and decreed by Cyrus, Darius, and Artaxerxes, the kings of Persia.
Read - Ezra 6:14b-22, Ezra 4:6
Time passed and the jewish nation steadily does the work of rebuilding the temple…under the reign of multiple Persian kings. Once completed it is time to celebrate. Celebration is very common in our culture…to the point that we often celebrate rather than work. Here we see a right order of things. Work, Completion, Celebration, Repeat. True, we can celebrate life each day but let’s make sure that it doesn’t get in the way of the purposes of God for our lives.
Lord, I will work hard to serve You and will also set aside time to Celebrate!
You have read of the institution of the Passover in Exodus. The Feast of Unleavened Bread was the week long Feast after up to it.
The life of the follower of Christ has at its apex the hope of eternal life with Christ. We call that Heaven most commonly. It is where we will spend forever Marveling in the Majesty of God. An eternity of celebration of who God is and how He loves. The feasts (like the one of Unleavened Bread in today’s text) were meant to be seasons where the people would stop and Marvel. Make sure you take time to stop and Marvel today.
