The life of faith may have some stops and starts but it need not end.
Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Ezra 7:9-10 - the gracious hand of his God was on him. 10 This was because Ezra had determined to study and obey the Law of the LORD and to teach those decrees and regulations to the people of Israel.
Read - Ezra 4:7-23, Ezra 7:1-8:36
Persia was in charge so when a king said ‘stop’ then Jerusalem had to stop. Then, when a new king said ‘go’ the people where to go. It was like a game of musical chairs. Ezra is called and sent to teach God’s Word and to move things forward for the nation. What an encouraging time that would be full of spiritual, mental and physical work…the life of following Christ usually includes each of these.
Lord, help me not to be discouraged when things slow down nor to be blind to Your hand when things are moving rapidly.

Notice that although the King was commissioning Ezra and his team, he also kept up the spiritual disciplines of fasting and prayer. Why? A life that is being surrendered and controlled by God and His Holy Spirit counts on more than just human or governmental thumbs up…we wait upon God who empowers us. For the follower of Christ, this is a key element of being Morphed by the Spirit.
