3:16 Plan - Week 26 - Day 3 - Year 2 - Nehemiah 10-13

God calls His people to precise obedience so we do not have to question what is right.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Nehemiah 13:31 - Remember this in my favor, O my God.

Read - Nehemiah 10-13

You have heard it said that the ‘devil is in the details’.  Oh, I suppose he can be…but ‘Our God is also in the business of details’.  Whether it is a genealogical list of people who moved to Jerusalem or a specific way to obey His law, God wants us to be secure in knowing how to invest our lives into obeying Him.

Lord, I will follow You as precisely as I can by the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Extra Discovery

Nehemiah confronted the people on multiple occasions due to their sin.  For us as Christ-followers, confrontations are directed to be handled in a precise way as seen in the words of Christ found in Matthew 18:15-17.

Nehemiah asks multiple times for God to remember what he has done.  This is not a bad prayer but a better prayer for the Christ-follower is to ask for God to forget what we have done.  Understanding the weight of our sin will bring us to a remorse for it that reminds us that God’s forgiveness in Christ is such a powerful and gracious gift that we are owed nothing and that every gift that we do receive is only given by the merit of the Mending sacrifice of Christ on the Cross.
