When God rains down His blessings we need to make sure we are placed directly underneath His will so as to enjoy all of them.
Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Joel 1:3 - Tell your children about it in the years to come, and let your children tell their children. Pass the story down from generation to generation.
Read - Joel 1-2:27
Although we don’t know when the book of Joel is written, its theme is timeless. God teaches us about the ‘day of the Lord’. The time when all our decisions come to bear. A day when we better have already prepared by turning from our own way and returning to God. When will this day be? That’s not the point. A people of faith don’t measure their lives against the last possible moment to turn to God…no…we see the benefit in aligning our lives with God’s will now and then we enjoy the blessings of God’s favor.
Lord, I will remember the consequences of my sin and return to Your will where I will stay.
In Exodus 10 you hear of the literal plague of Locusts descending upon Egypt to free the people from slavery.
I will give you back what you lost. This is God’s Word for us. It is a promise to replace the Marring of Sin with the Mending of Christ for the unbeliever who is called to faith in Christ. It is the promise to replace the Misleading of Satan with the Morphing of the Spirit for the Christ-follower who isn’t growing. Do you want it?
