3:16 Plan - Week 31 - Day 4 - Year 2 - John 3:29-30

Humility is a trait of the Christ-Follower that ensures that people see Jesus rather than you.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

John 3:29-30 - I am filled with joy at his success. He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.

Read - John 3:22-36

John the Baptist had been given quite a ministry yet it had limits.  He was called to be a forerunner to Jesus which means his ministry would expire once it was completed.  That is true for each of us.  We live finite lives with finite purpose.  Rather than get fussy or bitter over that truth, we should celebrate the season we have of being useful to God’s purpose and then, once fulfilled, we should celebrate that too!

Lord, give me humility as I serve You.

https://www.gotquestions.org/bride-of-Christ.html   - John alludes to our position as the Bride of Christ…here’s more about that.

As we strive to be obedient servants of God, let us keep a check on our pride.  If we do not then our service will be ruined as the purpose of our service is always to bless and glorify God and pride robs God of glory and is no blessing.
