God lavishes His love upon us through Christ in spite of our lost-ness, least-ness or contrary-ness. That’s grace!
Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Matthew 18:12 - Won't he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost?
Read - Matthew 18:12–14; Luke 15:1–32
A lost coin, a lost sheep and a lost son: What do they all have in common? Jesus tells us about them each so we will learn that God is in pursuit of us through Christ no matter our state of lost-ness.
Lord, I will have a heart for the lost that is inspired by Your own.
Read Luke 19:10 as a reminder of the mission of Christ.
Luke 15 has the story known as the Prodigal Son because he spent his inheritance recklessly. True, he was a reck. However, the most ‘prodigal’ thing in the story is the grace of the Father that is spent on a son who has abandoned His love. This is the love of God for us shown in Christ’s sacrifice so that you and I can be Mended eternally from the wounds of sin. Who is the greatest prodigal in the story? Our great God is, who spends all to redeem us!
