3:16 Plan - Week 2 - Day 1 - Year 3 - Luke 14:1-6

Refusal to acknowledge the truth doesn’t make it any less true.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Luke 14:4 - When they refused to answer, Jesus touched the sick man and healed him and sent him away.

Read - Luke 14:1–6

Jesus did good seven days a week and that included the Sabbath on which the law required no work.  The law of no work had become a rigid taskmaster that kept people from doing even the good things that were right in front of them.  Jesus gave greater meaning to how to rest on sabbath when he made clear that doing good and handling emergent issues should be permitted.  Rigid legalism can hinder pure faith if we aren’t careful.

Lord, I will not look for ways to be lazy.

We have been given a ministry from the Lord.  It is how we obediently serve Him.  In each instance, we must decide if we serve Him best by holding to rigid rules or by taking care of pressing needs.  There are times for both so discernment given by the Holy Spirit is needed.
