In our world where we are seemingly incentivized to step over others to get what’s ‘coming to us’, Jesus calls us to take a back seat of humility whenever possible. He promises that even if others don’t recognize it that God will and that is enough.
Lord, I will trust You to see me and not spend all my energy trying to be first or recognized.
Our rewards come from God so we can faithfully serve Him. Galatians 6:9
Verse 13 speaks to the type of people we are to associate with as Mended and Morphed Christ-followers. Rather than a ‘who’s who’, God calls us to gather together the ‘who isn’t’ list. Is our life marked by trying to be with the ‘in-crowd’ or by hanging out with those whom Jesus hung out with…’the others who wouldn’t normally make the guest list in this world’?
