Hindsight is 20/20 when we are paying attention. Jesus warned Peter of his own limited ability to persevere but Peter spoke with bravado about his intentions to follow Christ until the end. It wasn’t until after he had fulfilled the prophetic words of Christ and denied Him thrice that Peter recognized his folly. Let us be as aware as possible of our actions before we do them rather than only after…
Lord, let others see Jesus in me.
Satan sifted Peter as wheat as referred to in Luke 22:31. Yet, God didn’t forsake him. Instead, He used this humbling and embarrassing season to prepare Peter to be a mighty man of God in the early church. Rather than wish away our past struggles with the Marring and Misleading of Sin, let’s celebrate that God saw us through those seasons so we could live in victory now and later!
