Apply

The soldiers are told to hasten the death’s of those hanging on crosses but Jesus is already gone.  Why?  He had ‘given up His Spirit’ so that we could be forgiven.  Powerful!

Yield

Lord, I will look upon that horrific cross and live with gratitude.

Extra Discovery

Read John 10:17-18 to remember that Jesus said He would lay down His life in this way.

Revelation

Isaiah 53 prophetically promised that Jesus would be pierced for our transgressions.  The crown of thorns had pierced His head and now this spear had pierced His side.  When it did, His blood was shed for you and for me that we would no longer be slaves to sin (Marred) but that we could become righteous through faith and repentance (Mended).  Are you Mended by Christ?
