Some ran from the empty tomb in fear and others in faith. Which will you be?
Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word
Matthew 28:6 - He isn't here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.
Read -Matthew 28:5–8; Mark 16:5–8; Luke 24:3–8; John 20:1–2
The disciples view the place where Jesus had been laid to rest and attest that His body is gone. This brings fear to some and joy to others. The angel reminds them of the words of the Savior from when He instructed them about His resurrection. They are sent from the tomb to gather the saints and wait for the Lord. When surveying the empty tomb, will you be filled with joy?
Lord, I will wait for You.
Read Matthew 16:20-22 to remember that Jesus clearly told His disciples about the cross and the resurrection.
Knowing God requires faith and trust. It also requires the skill of listening. Jesus had often instructed His followers on the facts of His coming death and subsequent resurrection yet they didn’t understand or didn’t hear or didn’t want to hear. Therefore they didn’t fully Know the plan and couldn’t walk with faith and trust. Today, commit to listen to the Lord through His Word and by His Spirit so you can grow to Know Him through His Son Jesus.
