God extends His call to salvation to the least and the lost.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Acts 10: 42 And he ordered us to preach everywhere and to testify that Jesus is the one appointed by God to be the judge of all--the living and the dead. 43 He is the one all the prophets testified about, saying that everyone who believes in him will have their sins forgiven through his name."

Peter had only seen Jewish people come to faith.  God gave him a wonderful vision showing him that ‘his expectations’ would need to change so that he could accept what God was going to do next.  God was extending salvation to the gentiles and through Christ anyone that repented of sin and put their faith towards God could be cleansed and saved.  Has God ever done a work on your expectations?  Might He be doing so now?  Is there a people group or type that He would have you soften towards?

Revelation

Cornelius was drawn towards God by His own general revelation.  Once drawn, He heard the gospel and responded to it in repentance and faith.  He was then Mended by Christ and set free from the wages of sin.  What did God use to draw you to Himself?  Consider your story then consider sharing it with someone else?  If you don’t have a story, maybe God is using todays Bible text to draw you to salvation.
