3:16 Plan - Week 28 - Day 3 - Year 3 - Romans 3

There are plenty of seemingly good things to do in the world but none of them rank as truly good enough to merit salvation other than the good opportunity we have to place our faith in the One who was truly good: Jesus, the Son of God.

Pray The Word and Prepare for The Word

Romans 3: 21 But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. 22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

Our best acts on this planet look like filthy rags when we try to use them to gain righteousness with God (that is self-righteousness).  There is nothing good enough in us to get there.  We all simply fall short.  God, in His matchless grace, has afforded us faith in Christ to make us right with Him so we need not rely upon any part of ourselves to save us.

Lord, I will count on Christ to save me now and forever.

Revelation

Many would claim to not be ‘sinners’.  That we are not ‘Marred by Sin’…some have even changed the words to several old hymns that used the word ‘wretched’ to something that doesn’t make us look quite as needy or…well, ‘wretched’.  Yet, it is precisely in the understanding that we ‘have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God’ that we find the faith to be saved and ‘Mended by Jesus’.  Yes, it’s bad…but without the acceptance of the bad there is no true acceptance of the good.  Say it with me ‘I sinned and fell short of God’s glory so He sent Jesus to do what I couldn’t…which is pay the debt for my sin…so I could be saved forever from the wrath of God by the grace of God through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ’.
